Somaliland President Muse Abdi Bihi on Friday hosted Ibrahim Muse Abdi a teenager who was left orphan in the wake of the cyclone Sagar.
Bihi has pledged to support Abdi who lost his parents and six siblings in the the worst cyclone to have hit the region in over a century.
Abdi story was aired by a local Somaliland TV station and his heartbreaking interview that ended with the reporter breaking into tears went viral.
A go-fund account to assist Abdi and his sister was started a day ago targeting $ 5000 and by Friday night $2471 had been collected.
Abdi and his sister had been away in school when the cyclone hit their family home killing their mother, father and six siblings.
At least 50 people are reported have died following Cyclone Sagar landfall last Saturday.
