At least seven people were killed when an IED explosion hit a donkey cart they were travelling on near the town of Bulobarde in the central Somalia region of Hiraan.
A Bulobarde district official confirmed to Radio Dalsan of the incident that occurred Monday morning.
Out of the seven killed six were members of one family.
Officials claim the IED had been planted by Alshabaab.
Somalia militant group Alshabaab has in the past claimed been linked to roadside explosion in this part of the country as they continue to wage an insurgency against the government and the Djibouti Amisom troops.
