A court in Cape Town has sentenced a South African national to 35 years in jail after he was found guilty of murdering a Somali national.
32 years old John Arnoldus killed his victim who was in his shop on January 4, 2016.
The South African Police also confirmed that the criminal has fired at a business premise on 30th of the same month killing one Somali national and injuring another.
The Police added that the convict was one of the gangs who has frequently attacked and killed Somali traders in the country.
South Africa hosts many Somali immigrants who are mainly traders but a rise in xenophobic attacks has led to so many deaths.
The conviction of John Arnoldus is the first for any South African charged for killing a Somali national.
