Somaliland Sign Diplomatic Agreement With Djibouti

Somaliland President Muse Bihi Abdi who was on official tour to Djibouti signed a diplomatic agreement that includes among other things security and economic development with President Ismail Omar Gelle.

Somaliland’s Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Sa’ad Ali Shire said that the two presidents have also discussed and agreed on ways to have a good diplomatic relation.

This follows after the newly elected President Bihi made a previous visit to Djibouti where he discussed President Gelle on a number of issues.

Djibouti and Somaliland share a border and there is need to maintain security and good relations between the two sides. However, some political analysts say that the move is likely to compromise the diplomatic relations between Somalia and Djibouti.
