Somalia government on Wednesday called for continued support by the European Union as the Horn of Africa steadily returns to normalcy after decades of conflict.
Prime Minister Hassan Khaire told diplomats and representatives of the international community that Somalia appreciated the role EU has played in the reconstruction of Somalia.
Mogadishu on Wednesday held an event to commemorate the Schuman Day also known as European Day.
“We call all our partners to join take risks have more faith in the Somali people and continue helping us rebuild this nation piece by piece block by block” Khaire said.
Khaire who last week visited Brussels on a meeting on Somalia once again called for clearance of debt by international financial constitution.
The event was marked for the first time in Mogadishu at the EU’s new premises after relocating from Kenya capital Nairobi.
EU has continued to fund million dollars projects aimed at reconstructing and securing the country
