More than ten Somali soldiers have been killed and over 20 wounded following suspected US airstrike.
The attack happened in south central part of the country.
Galmudug regional state of Somalia officials said the airstrike targeted Somali National Army base in Godod outskirts of southern city of Galkacyo city.
Deputy mayor of the city Abdirahman Mohamed Ahmed said ten soldiers were killed and scores others wounded in the attack.
Officials from Puntland administration have claimed the attack targeted Alshabaab militants but cannot be independently verified.
Small number of US soldiers are on the ground in Somalia to provide training and support for Somali Special forces who have in recent months carried out targeted special operation against armed group Alshabaab.
