At least two men died while a landmine they were burying went off at ex-control Bal’ad junction in Mogadishu, police said.
Huge explosion heard round the junction, it was midnight, one of residents told radio Radio Dalsan by phone.
“Abdifatah Omar Halane, spokesman for Banadir administration, said that the landmine blast only killed the two persons who were burying it, and no civilian and army casualties.
Somali police who reached at the scene said, “We already had the information about the two men, but we have been looking for since we got the information”.
It’s not the first time that landmines has killed only those perpetrating.
