Somali soccer team impressive performance in Djibouti

Somali under 23 football match with Rwanda has ended with draw (1-1).

Despite showing impressive one touch ball until the 90 plus minutes, ocean stars did not qualify to the next round due to goal difference.

The first leg which was played in Kigali ended with 2 goals to nothing seeing home team taking the lead.

Due to insecurity issue raised by the confederation of African football (CAF) Somalia could not make to Mogadishu for home game and thus transferred to Djibouti.

Kenya also dismissed Somali soccer team plea to play in Nairobi as home ground.

Deputy Chairman of Somali football federation Ali Mohamed Abdi has congratulated the team for the excellent performance.

The squad is expected in the country on Monday.

Rwanda will face Uganda in the next round.
