Mortar shells kill 2 wound 5 others in Mogadishu

At least two people have been confirmed dead and 5 others sustained injuries after volleys of mortars have landed near the Somali Presidential Palace on Monday.

The incident was verified by local residents living in the neighborhood.

Security officials say a child was among those killed in the mortar raid, and as well several houses damaged.

The Armed Islamist group in Somalia “Al Shabab” has claimed the responsibility  of the attack saying they targeted Somalia’ Presidential Palace.

Al Shabab has been attacking Somalia government and AU bases in the country since 2007 and they had attacked several times Somalia’s Presidential Palace.
