Kenyan government has shut down its border with Somalia on Thursday.
Residents of the border towns of Mandera of Kenya and Beled Hawo of Somalia have confirmed to the media.
The move comes real threat from Somali based armed group Alshabaab that threaten to intensify attacks inside Somalia and neighbouring Kenya during the cause of the holy month of Ramadan.
As the result of the closure of the border business and movement of people between the two were affected.
Officials in the area have said more than 4000 Somali students who crossed the border every day for schooling in Kenyan side of Mandera have been affected.
Also traders from Mandera who used to purchase goods in Somalia side were also kept away.
Eyewitness has confirmed heavy Kenyan military presence and tanks patrolling along the border.
Armed group Alshabaab has carried wave of terror attacks inside Kenya since its military sent inside Somalia on November 2011.
President Uhuru Kenyatta has recently threatened to pull out his troops if the international community will not increase the welfare of the AMISOM troops inside Somalia.
