Kenyan government has announced that it will increase the number of consulate in Somalia.
Speaking to the media in Mogadishu Kenyan ambassador to Somalia LukasTumbo has said his country will open consulates in the cities of Kismayo,Garowe, Baidoa and Hargeysa to serve Kenyan nationals working in Somalia.
Ambassador Tumbo revealed that there are over 20,000 Kenya citizens working in Somalia with various sectors including international NGOs.
Kenyan nationals are the largest foreign nationals working in Somalia and their number increased as stability slowly returned to its neighbour.
The two neighbouring states share close diplomatic relations and cooperate on security mainly on fight against armed group Alshabaab.
Nairobi whose army is part of AU mission in Somalia sent it’s troops inside troubled neighbour on late 2011.
