Nur Idow Beyle on Sunday defeated five other rivals to win the hotly contested Jowhar’s Hirshabelle Federal Parliamentary seat, Radio Dalsan.
Beyle faced former NISA boss Abdullahi Ali Shanbololshe in second round of voting garnering 27 votes against 24.
The seat attracted political heavyweights of the region including former Hirshabelle President Ali Abdullahi Osoble who was impeached in August 2017.
Jowhar Parliamentary seat fell vacant following the appointment of Shanbololshe to head Somalia’s spy agency.
Shanbololshe was however forced to resign following the October 14 bombings that killed more than 500 people.
