Coalition of opposition parties in Somalia have called upon the president to step down from the power.
The opposition members mainly senior former government officials have said President Shekh Mohamud time is up and his illegally in the office.
“The time of the president in office is over constitutionally, it is not clear why he is in the office illegally,” former PM Abdiweli told the press in Mogadishu.
He called upon the president to surrender state property, security guards, cars and vacate the Presidential Palace as soon as possible.
The coalition of opposition parties in Somalia who spoke to the media on Friday has called upon the President to transfer the tools of power to the speaker of the national assembly on acting capacity.
They said the constitution must be respected until the next president comes to office warning that they will submit their complaints to the highest institution in the country.
More than 30 candidates have expressed interest in the upcoming presidential elections in Somalia scheduled on 30th October.
