Seven bodies were on Tuesday discovered buried in two buildings near the Airport. A building hosting the Youth Rehabilitation Center CCA and two other buildings adjacent to the Airport were destroyed and the bodies found.
“This morning we found two bodies of brothers aged 14 and 17 near Krotada area of Wadajir” Asha Yusuf resident told Radio Dalsan.
Apparently the impact of the massive explosion destroyed buildings and killed people far from its epicenter.
At the Center For Community Awareness CCA office which is next to the Peace Hotel all equipment was destroyed and staff evacuated.
“We have lost almost 145000 dollars in the destruction. Vehicles , computers, tailoring machines we lost a lot” Cajiib told Radio Dalsan.
According to Mohamed Cajiib who heads the center they were rehabilitating up to 50 youths providing them with technical skills. However the attack occurred when the students were away on holidays http://ccasom.org.
CCA which has offices across the country has been very instrumental in the anti radicalization of Mogadishu youth in the last five years. Beside having programmes to counter radicalization the center has also been vital in the integration of the youth through sports arts and culture leadership mentorship and media development research and training.
