Alshabaab positions in the Gedo region have been hit by airstrikes from Kenya Defense Forces military helicopters, Resident said.
The airstrike targeted Alshabaab movements near Kalabayr some 10km from El Wak Somalia.
According to a Gedo region administrator the airstrike followed intelligence shared to the KDF on the presence of militants in the area.
No deaths were reported following the airstrikes.
