Somalia’s Lower House of the Parliament Deputy Speaker Abdiweli Sheikh Ibrahim Mudey wants all MPs currently living out of the country to return immediately and participate in the motion against embattled Speaker Mohamed Osman Jawari.
Speaking at a Press Conference in Mogadishu on Wednesday, Mudey announced that he had revoked leave for all the MPs so as to “fulfil their constitutional obligations on the current crisis”.
The country has been thrown into a crisis and the Parliament sharply divided between the PM Hassan Khaire and the Speaker Jawari camps. The vote is expected to take place on Saturday.
