According to security sources at least 14 people were killed and unspecified number were wounded when Al Shabaab suicide car bomb targeted convoy carrying United Arab Emirates diplomats in Mogadishu.
Sources said United Arab Emirates Ambassador Mohammed Ahmed Osman Al Hammad has survived the attack.
Among those killed in the attack are eight civilians, two security forces and two suicide attackers who carried out the attack.
Al Shabaab has claimed the responsibility of the attack through its online radio Al Andulus station.
