Ethiopian government has confirmed new peace initiative between Galmudug and Puntland regional states of Somalia.
Foreign Affairs Statement posted online confirmed cessation of hostilities between the two administrations that clashed several times over territorial dispute.
The statement calls upon the two sides to implement ceasefire and avoid steps can lead to further escalation of violence.
It also urged Puntland to stop construction of livestock centre in Galkacyo and Galmudug to reopen the airport.
More than 50,000 people have been displaced in the renewed fighting between rival Somali administrations last week according to UNOCHA.
An effort by the federal government in Mogadishu to bring everlasting peace between the two members of the federal government was futile.
