At least twenty seven Alshabaab were on Saturday killed in an airstrike conducted by the US in Somalia’s north eastern region of Puntland, a statement from the US Africom said.
“In coordination with the Federal Government of Somalia, U.S. Forces conducted an airstrike targeting al-Shabaab militants approximately 26 miles southwest of Bosasso, Somalia, on June 2, killing twenty-seven (27) terrorists” said the statement.
The airstrike came a day after Al-Shabaab militants in Puntland overran the Bali Khadr military camp.
The statement says no civilians were killed in the airstrike
