A plane carrying thirteen Somali youth evacuated from Libya by the Somali government on Wednesday landed at the Aden Adde airport in Mogadishu.
The youth were welcomed at the airport by government officials and thanked the government for the support given to come back to their homeland.
One of the youth was a lady.
The government officials reiterated that the government is committed to bringing all the Somalis who are in detentions outside the country back to Somalia.
Hundreds of Somali youths are in detention camps in Libya and other countries in the world after they were arrested while heading to Europe, US and other countries, in search of a better life.
A good number of Somalis also fell in the hands of human traffic dealers on their way and were subjected to serious torture and mistreatment including rape and beating upon failure to pay a high ransom fee.
So far, 37 Somali nationals have been rescued after the Somali government sent a delegation led by the Somali Ambassador to the European Union Dr. Ali Said Faqi to Libya on February 13, to secure a safe return of the Somalis trapped in the North African country.
