The Somali government soldiers backed by the AU troops have on Tuesday morning foiled an armed attack which the radical Islamist faction Alshabab has carried at Qoryoolow district in the Lower Shabelle region.
After heavy exchange of light and heavy weapons Alshabab fighters could not have access to enter the district or take control of the district.
“As usual the dying fighters of Alshabab have waged attack on the district this morning, but encountered heavy fight which could not allow them to have access in the district” said Mohamed Haji Osman the district commissioner of Qoryoolow district.
The district commissioner also confirmed that 1 government soldier has died in the confrontation, but didn’t confirm if there are any casualties of the AU troops.
