Somali Independent Media Houses Association has on Saturday concluded safety and security workshop for Somali Journalists ahead of elections
More than 30 Somali Journalists from Mogadishu, Lower and Middle Shabelle regions attended the training funded by International Media Support IMS and FOJO.
During the three days learning session the Journalists underwent topics ranging from safety, security, digital security and first aid.
SIMHA Chairman Hassan Ali Gesey who was present at the closing ceremony has thanked IMS and FOJO for the support.
Gesey said the training is significant for Somali Journalists as they are gearing up to cover upcoming historic elections on November 2016.
SIMHA and its partners IMS and FOJO awarded the certificates to the Journalists at the end of the training and called upon the Journalists to utilize the knowledge and skills they gained during the three days workshop.
