Somalia security forces arrested at least seven suspected militants in an operation conducted in Beletweyne town, the headquarters of Hiran region in central Somalia, on Monday.
Beletweyne police commander, Ali Dhuuh Abdi, a.k.a. Mahad Alle said the police force is every now and then faced with security issues in the region.
He added that there is an ongoing investigation into the seven men and urged the local people to be calm and work with the police during and after the security operations.
Commander Dhuuh issued strict commands against parking vehicles near crowd gatherings as well as owning or driving vehicles with tinted windows.
The security operations come after the formation of a regional administration for Hiran and middle Shebelle regions, although there is political tension between the two regions.
