Puntland State President Abdiweli Mohamed Ali Gaas on Monday failed to travel to Dhusamareb to attend an official event when a UN flight declined to have him aboard for security reasons.
A security source at the Abdullahi Yusuf International Airport told Radio Dalsan that the Puntland President declined to go through routine check before boarding the flight.
Gaas was accompanied by his security details and a delegation.
He was scheduled to join President Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed Farmaajo and regional state leaders to witness the merger of Ahlul Sunnah Wa Jamaa and Galmudug administration.
