Major roads in Somali capital are in a lockdown in preparation for IGAD heads of states annual meeting next week.
Somali special forces have closed and monitoring situation across the city.
Exit and entry of the city has been restricted from Saturday morning and public vehicles diverted from all roads passing near the presidential palace which is set to host the extra-ordinary meeting of the IGAD head of states from 13th September.
Hundreds of members of the public were seen footing to places of work in Mogadishu on Saturday as public transport become useless since movement was completely restricted.
Reports also indicate that the major international airport in Mogadishu will be shutdown to accommodate head of states arrivals for the meeting.
The 28th extra-ordinary summit IGAD head of states in Mogadishu is first of high profile international meeting hosted by Somalia since 1972 African union meeting.
