The President of Somali regional state of Galmudug has undergone successful heart operation in India.
Officials from his office have confirmed the surgery.
President Abdikarim Guled travelled to Indian capital, New Delhi last week after heart related complications.
Officials have confirmed to Radio Dalsan via phone from India that President Guled is doing well and responding to the treatment.
He is expected to return to the country to continue towards the preparations of historic general elections in Somalia later this year.
Thousands of Somalis seek medical attention in India every year after they are referred by local hospitals to abroad health facilities.
