Ministry of Defense has said more 15 Alshabaab fighters have been killed in military operation.
Deputy Minister for Defense Abdullahi Hussein Ali said the raid occurred at number 50 area in Lower Shabelle region.
Ali confirmed that among those killed were senior armed group figures.
“Somali National Army operation killed more than 14 fighters including senior figures and seized arms cache,” he said.
The Department of Defense also said the organized operation destroyed vehicles used by the group.
