Al Shabab Taliban Mourning Rules out ISIS Links

Somali armed group Al Shabaab has performed funeral prayer Salatul Janaza for Taliban leader Mullah Mohamed Omar.

Senior Al Shabaab figures attended the funeral prayer in Lower Shabelle region in Southern Somalia on Friday.

The move rules out previous speculations on growing links and possible allegiance between Islamic state of Iraq and Levant.

Sheikh Mohamed Abu Abdalla who spoke on the behalf of the group in undisclosed location has sent his condolences to Taliban for the death of its leader.

Abdullah said Mullah Omar was brave leader who was committed to spear head global Jihad and they will not hesitate to take his path.

Taliban announced the death of its longtime leader Mullah Mohamed Omar on Thursday.

According to Afghanistan government Taliban one eyed leader died in Karachi Pakistan in 2013.

The group has since announced its new leader as the Mullah Akhtar Mohamed Mansour former close aide of late leader Mullar Omar.
