The Somali Ministry of Religious Affairs has issued an order to register all Mosques and other religious institutions in the capital Mogadishu.
Speaking to the media on Saturday, Director of the religious affairs Sheikh Ali Dere said that the Ministry is committed to registering all the mosques in the city and build more.
“We are committed to register all the mosques in Mogadishu and group them into districts. The Ministry has a plan to have three hundred new Mosques where people can perform Jum’a prayers,” said Sheikh Dere.
The Ministry early January 2 ordered all the Mosques and Qur’anic schools in Mogadishu to register themselves with Ministry.
