Senior Somali National Army officer lost his life after suspected Alshabaab suicide attacker targeted his car.
The attack which occurred near Defense Headquarters in Mogadishu also resulted over 20 people mainly soldiers.
Spokesman said suicide attacker rammed his car into Somali National Army 3rd brigade commander General Mohamed Jimale Roble famously known as General Goobaane vehicle.
He was significant in the fight against armed group Alshabaab in the lower Shabelle region and survived several attempted assassination by the group before.
President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has sent his condolences to Somali National Army and the family of the slain general.
