Next annual IGAD meeting to be held in Mogadishu

The next IGAD high level annual meeting will be held in Somali capital Mogadishu, officials have confirmed.

The meeting which the leaders of the regional block are set to attend is expected on September this year.

Saturday meeting in Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa in which regional block leaders meet discussed upcoming elections in Somalia, South Sudan political crisis and among other issues in the regional.

IGAD leaders agree to send Peacekeeping troops to South Sudan and urged politicians to respect ceasefire.

Four Foreign Affairs Ministers from Djibouti, Ethiopia, Kenya, and South Sudan attended IGAD meeting in Mogadishu for a historic IGAD Ministerial meeting on January 2015 that was last held in Somalia in 1985.
