Popular Somali musician Ali Bashir Abdi “Dhaanto” has denied reports that he is in critical condition after consuming poison in his recent tour of Kismayu, Radio Dalsan reports.
Upon his arrival in the capital Mogadishu on Monday Abdi took to his Facebook account to confirm to his fans that the reports were false
“I left Kismayu today in the morning while happy and ok. After landing in Mogadishu, I received calls from shocked family members who were informed that I got a problem. I greet you all the Somali people and I love you so much. I thank you if you were worried about me but I want to tell you that I had no problem” Abdi said on live feed
“I am healthy and ok. And no one has poisoned me. I am a man who is in his own land and was not expecting a problem and neither will I do it to anyone” he said
He accused unnamed persons of having ill motive.
“I want to tell Facebook users and website owners who write that Ali was poisoned and got a problem, that you will only add problems to the people but not a benefit. Surely, I touched myself, so what do you think of others who heard the news. How many times have I received audios or writings about me published on websites? I have not encountered any problem. I am healthy and ok”
The musician was in Kismayu for seven days performance trip where he said he was received warmly with the locals and had several performance of his Dhaanto genre of music which is popular in this part of Somalia.
