Somali Religious Council have called upon Garowe and Cadado to diffuse the tension in Galkacyo.
The Chairman of the council Sheikh Bashir Ahmed Salad has urged Puntlland and Galmudug to cease the unnecessary the hostilities.
He called upon the two parties to think about the consequences resulted by the conflict in terms of displacement of innocent population.
The religious council has appealed to the federal government, elites, clerics and civil society groups to stand up for peace to prevail in Galkacyo as well as other parts of the country.
Forces loyal to Puntland and Galmudug have clashed in Galkacyo last week.
Garowe has denied the accusations by Casado that it is fuelling the tension in Galkacyo which is administered by the two rival administrations.
