Puntland marks agriculture day in Garowe

Somalia’s semi-autonomous regional state of Puntland on Sunday marked region’s agriculture day following a highly organized event held in the capital Garowe.

Puntland deputy minister for agriculture, deputy minister for planning, notable merchants and selected community members as well Puntland farmers were in attendance at the event.

“Our land is full of resources and the government is ready to egg on farming in a different way because it’s the only apparatus that people can develop their food production” Puntland deputy minister for Agriculture Siciid Xuseen has said.

Region’s local fruits were paraded at the event while water insufficient has been reported parts in the region amid Pntland farmers asked government to dig out new water walls for the needed planters.
