Somali Prime Minister Hassan Ali Khaire is expected to arrive in Washington DC on Sunday for a five-day tour of the US, Radio Dalsan reports.
Khaire is expected to meet with International Monetary Funds (IMF) and World Bank as the Horn of Africa country seeks to have its debt relieved.
In January International Monetary Fund (IMF) Managing Director Christine Lagarde has pledged to push for speedy relief of debt on Somalia.
Lagarde had met with Khaire in Davos Switzerland on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum.
Somalia economy has been on the rise according to IMF with its growth projected to increase from 1.8% to 2.5% in 2018.
However Somalia is struggling with the heavy burden of external debt approximated to be at $ 5.2 billion.
