Dutch firm contracted to build six ships for Somali coast guards has confirmed that it is on the last stage.
Somali ambassador to European Union who visited the firm headquarters in Rotterdam said his confident that the ships will be delivered on time.
The Atlantic marine offshore company was contracted by the federal government of Somalia on July 2013 to start building the ships meant for Somali navy.
The company will also train Somali navy who are tasked to operate the ships upon delivery.
Officials from Atlantic marine offshore firm said it will take five to six years to train Somali navy to operate the vessels and take full duty to safeguard Somali water territory.
The project will help Somali government manage its waters that is affected by piracy, illegal fishing and waste dumping.
It will also help deal with secret weapon delivery to armed group Alshabaab by its supporters.
International community is helping to rebuild and equip Somali security forces in an effort to return peace and stability in the horn of African region.
Countries like Turkey are also leading in the training and equipment of Somali air force and navy in Istanbul as commitment to help Somali government.
