South West regional state of Somalia has been praised for ensuring 30 percent women quota in politics.
The administration submitted candidates for upper house representatives ahead of all other regional states in the country and beating the deadline.
In the list submitted and its receivership acknowledged by interim federal electoral body contains 3o percent women quotas requirement as per the constitution of the country.
Women rights and activists have showered their congratulations upon the South West leader Sharif Hassan Sheikh Adan saying the move is positive.
Women political leaders have also urged other Somali regional state leaders to follow South West suit to ensure constitutional right for women representation in politics.
Puntland, Galmudug and Jubbaland have also submitted candidates for Upper house representatives in upcoming elections in the country.
Parliamentary and Presidential elections is set on November this year.
President Mouhamud has maintained election schedule on time though it was postponed twice before.
