Mogadishu, 28 November 2016 – Somali Humanitarian, Education and Development Association (SOHEDA) today held a ceremony in Mogadishu to thank and to welcome Hon Yusuf Heyle Jimale, the best Somali MP for his re-election. The event took place at the center of SOHEYDA and around 1200 students came together to say thank you Hon Jimale for his re-election as they were praying for ALLAH for his comeback.
Hon Yusuf Heyle Jimale is the founder of SOHEDA that is in existence for the last 2 years and 8 months and his aim was to provide education, shelter, and living expenses for families of disadvantaged children in the country. So far, SOHEDA has successfully raised the resources and as a result provide food, shelter, books, and health for one thousand, one hundred and nineteen students who come from poorest families in Somalia.
Hon Yusuf Heyle Jimale is the only and the best Somali MP as he understood the mandate of representing Somali people. When he begun this Nobel idea other MPs said to him “you are wasting your time”, but that gave him more determination to prove them wrong. Hon Yusuf Heyle Jimale always believed that this is a Nobel cause and it can be done, so he successfully managed to fund raise through traditional mechanisms of asking everyone to make whatever contributions that he or she can make, unlike other NGOs in the country that mobilise resources from donors. Imagine if he were to get access to donors funding, what he could do for vulnerable children in the society. Within 2 years and 8 months Hon Jimale successfully managed to provide food, shelter, books, and health for one thousand, one hundred and nineteen students who come from vulnerable families in Somalia, especially those who are from minority groups. These children now have a bright future and thanks to Hon Jimale.
During today’s event these 1119 children showed their full appreciation and thanks to Hon Jimale and felt a relief after the Hon Yusuf Heyle Jimale was re-elected as an MP for the next 4 years. These children said to Hon Jimale that they were praying for him during elections and as soon as they heard the excellent news of his re-election they felt relief and joy and knew that if he becomes an MP that their future will be even brighter than it is now. Hon Jimale thanked these children and assured them that he will redouble his efforts to reach out to all children in need of food, shelter, and education so that they can get the support that they so deserve in order for them to become useful members of the society.
