Somalia Federal Government President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, has on Thursday received credentials from new ambassadors from Turkey, South Korea, the Philippines, and Sri Lanka in a brief ceremony at Villa Somalia, the Presidential Palace in the capital Mogadishu.
The ambassadors, Alper Akta from Turkey, Mr. Yeo Sung-jun from South Korea, Mr. K. Theshatha from Sri Lanka, and Mrs. Marie Charlotte from the Philippines conveyed greetings and messages from their respective governments.
They reiterated their unwavering commitment to fostering cooperation between their countries and Somalia.
During the ceremony, discussions focused on strengthening diplomatic relations between the countries, especially in promoting economic cooperation, security, counter-terrorism, humanitarian issues, and development.
The President shared with the Ambassadors the significant achievements and progress made by the Federal Government of Somalia in the areas of security, economy, debt relief, combating terrorism and re-establishing the National Army.
President Mohamud wished the newly appointed ambassadors all the best as they embark on serving their respective countries, pledging to supporting them in fulfilling their diplomatic missions.
