Opposition coalition  parties reject new election committee

Opposition coalition parties in Somalia have rejected new election committee named by President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud.

The parties denounced the 22 member committee named by the President for the upcoming elections later this year.
They said the President move is unconstitutional and violates federal electoral laws in the horn of african state.
Kamal Dahir Gutale spokesman for the parties during the press briefing in the capital Mogadishu has said the move by the President to go on with the formation of electoral committee contradicts the law.

He added that it is indication of planned rigging by the government in the upcoming elections which he said may lead to serious violence based on tribalism in the already recuperating state.

The coalition has urged the international community and the elders to look into the matter to avoid the disputed elections in the already volatile state.

Somalia is expected to conduct historic elections on August and plans are already ongoing on to make the process success.
