- Embattled Speaker of the Lower House Of the Somali Federal Parliament has said he will not resign despite demands by President Mohamed Abdulllahi Farmaajo.
Speaking to reporters on Tuesday Jawari revealed that Farmaajo had thrice asked him to resign after their last Saturday meeting.
“The government should resign since it manufactured this crisis. I will not resign I will not resign I will not resign” Jawari told reporters.
Jawari has accused Farmaajo of being partial in the one month old crisis that started with the impeachment motion against him.
Mps are scheduled to resume sessions on Wednesday and both Jawari and his deputy Abdiweli Mudey claim to be in charge.
Jawari says he will take Farmaajo personally responsible for consequences of Wednesday session.
Last Saturday Farmaajo suspended the motion to ease tension that has split the Parliament into Pro Jawari and Pro Executive campscamps.
