Former Minister of Constitutional Affairs Osman Mohamed Ali has termed the Ahlul Sunna Wal Jama’a -Galmudug administration merger unconstitutional, Radio Dalsan reports.
Mr Ali has based his argument on the legality of the representatives that took part in the Djibouti held agreement.
“I want to tell you that the problem in Galmudug is based on the constitution. Galmudug is an administration just like the ones of other regional states and was based on an all-inclusive agreement. Something went wrong on the constitution side, for example, top leaders of Galmudug were dismissed. Then the same leaders entered an agreement in Djibouti”, said Ali.
“I believe an exclusive agreement will yield any benefit and hope that it will not be signed. Because it will be an embarrassment for the federal government sign an agreement while Galmudug is disintegrated. Because it will not make sense for you to take one step forward and then two backward”, he added.
A ceremony to mark the amalgamation of ASWJ and Galmudug is taking place in Dhusamareb on Thursday witnessed by Somali President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo and regional state heads.
