A man said to be the son of a top Al shabaab commander was on Sunday shot dead by a soldier in a prison in Mahaas district of Hiran region, a government official told Radio Dalsan.
The killing is said to be a revenge attack by the soldier whose father was assassinated by Alshabaab in the same region according to Mumin Mohamed Halen the DC Mahaas District who spoke to Radio Dalsan by phone .
The deceased man has been identified as Hirey and is said to be related to the soldier who shot him dead .
Harey whose father is a top commander of Alshabaab in Moqoqori district in Hiran region had been imprisoned on suspicion of being a fighter in the militant group.
The soldier behind the prison killing is been held awaiting prosecution.
