Somalia: curfew imposed in kismayo town

The security forces in the coastal town of Kismayo the headquarters of the semiautonomous state of Jubaland have on Saturday morning imposed curfew in the town.

The main reason behind the curfew is that the recently re-elected President of Jubaland Ahmed Mohamed Islam will be inaugurate.

international and local level of delegations have been flowing in the town for the last couple of days, in order to witness and be present at the inauguration ceremony of the president.

The security personals have cordoned off all street leading towards the hall where the event is taking place.

There are independent reports which say that there is high probability of senior Somali federal government who will be attending the inauguration ceremony.

The president of the semiautonomous state of Puntland who is believed to be a close allay to President Ahmed reached Kismayo on Friday.
