Senior Somali-American National Army officer has accused African Union Mission in Somalia for lack of action against pushing armed group Alshabaab out of the remaining areas in the country mainly Lower Shabelle region.
Colonel Mohamud Koronto also blamed Somali government for poor policy in ending the insurgency against Alshabaab.
Col. Koronto who holds American nationality told Radio Dalsan that he will pause his service at the national army and start local driven operation to kick out Alshabaab militants from entire Shabelle region in order to ease the restrictions the group imposed upon the people in the area.
He appealled for support from the locals and diaspora community from the Shabelle region in order to continue the mission.
No comment from the government regarding the claim from senior Somali National Army who joined the military on voluntary mission in order to win war against Alshabaab from USA years ago.
