Radio Dalsan in association with Taj money Transfer Company has launched Ramadan Quranic competition.
Competitors from more than 20 Quranic schools have participated in the opening ceremony in Mogadishu city palace hotel on Saturday.
The director Dalsan Radio Hassan Ali Gesey who spoke during the occasion has said the main aim of organizing the event is to encourage young Somali students to continue their hard work in studying the holy book.
Gesey thanked parents and teachers of the students for their role in the spiritual building of the young Somali generation.
The competition which will conclude at the end of the holy month has brought together various Hafidul Al Quran as young as 8 years old.
Somalia which is a Muslim country has the history of sending young Quranic contestants abroad for competition.
