Mogadishu court fines Radio Journalists

Mogadishu court has fined four radio journalists to over 13000 US dollars for incitement and false broadcasted related case.

Abdimalik Yusuf the owner of Shabelle and Sky was fine 10000 US dollars and will be freed.

Journalist and the director of Sky FM mohamud Arab was fined 2000 US dollars while Ahmed Abdi Hassan of Shabelle Mohamed Abdi Ali of Risala must pay 500 US dollars to get their freedom back.

The court has also delayed charges facing other journalists Mohamed Bashir who is also from Shabelle radio station.

Media advocacy groups have condemned crackdown against journalists in the country.

The Chairman of Somali Independent Media Houses Association Hassan Ali Gesey has called upon Somali authorities to respect the media freedom and free all detained journalists.
