An investigation has been launched into the killing of a Somali soldier and a civilian after shooting between Ugandan troops and NISA agents at a Mogadishu checkpoint last Friday.
Speaking at a press conference in the capital Mogadishu, Federal Minister for Internal Affairs Abdi Mohamed Sabriye pledged that the government will do a thorough investigation into the incident.
The appointment of the committee follows a meeting between Somalia government and the Head of Amisom Francisco Madeira.
Mr. Madeira who also spoke at the press conference said Amisom regrets the occurrence of the incident y were very unhappy with the incident and added that it will never occur again.
The incident occurred some minutes past 8pm on Friday when a convoy of Uganda troops was denied access through a NISA checkpoint at KM4 leading to a shootout.
Amisom had earlier issued a statement saying the convoy was transporting victims of the Friday twin bombings to AU medical facility at Halane.
