Somali citizens held for narcotics in Belgium

The Belgian government has detained ten people among them Somalis over drug related case.

The suspects main Africans from Somalia, Rwanda, Tanzania, Burundi have been accused of smuggling cocaine in the Belgium and other European Union countries.

Belgium Chief justice has told the media about more than 100 police officers operation near the capital Brussels in a suspected drug route to other European countries.

He said such security operations in the suspected drug trafficking routes have reduced smuggling across the Europe.

The fate of Somali citizens is still unclear and there is no official comment from the federal government of Somalia.
