Turkey Hands Over Modern Sea Cleaning Equipment To Somali Government

Deputy Prime Minister of the Somali federal government Mr Mahdi Mohamed Guled has today lead the launching of modern equipment that will be used to remove wastes including remains of destroyed ships from the sea waters.

This new equipment which the Turkey government has donated to the government of Somalia was brought to the country by Albeyrak – a Turkish company that operates in Mogadishu port.

Minister of Ports and Maritime Transport Mrs Maryan Aweys Jama, Minister of Fisheries and Marine Resources and Albeyrak port operations manager were also present at the launching event.

The provision of the equipment will be vital to the port of Mogadishu which is expected to increase its operations soon.
